How did Jimmie Johnson increase his points lead over Carl Edwards on Sunday?

With Carl Edwards leading laps and winning the race on Sunday (10/26/08) at Atlanta, how did Jimmie Johnson (finishing 2nd) actually gain any points on him in the Chase. It looks like Carl would have gained a few or at least they would have stayed the same distance apart in the point difference?
